The 2nd 2022 Italian F-1 GP has just ended with Max winning it but it was a dull race:
1. The actual starting grid was different from the qualifying results because there were penalties due to "above the quota" (this is to level the playing field to avoid money-rich-teams' advantage Vs money-tight-teams by changing to new engines & new tires in every race) engine/tire changes. Max started from the 7th instead of 2nd, & Hamilton started from dead last.
2. RB (Max) has a faster car than all others, so he made up a lot grounds within 2 laps & got close to Leclerc.
3. Max was also very lucky towards the end of the race when Ricciardo stopped due to engine issue, Leclerc pitted immediately while Max did not, when we all expected SC will show up before Max pitted, which will wipe out his lead and put him into second with a lot of cars between him & Leclerc. Well, well, SC did not show up until the final 3 laps. So, Max did not lose time when he pitted, and finally the race finished with SC showing the way .
How long will Max's luck last?
3. Finally placing: Max, Leclerc, Russell. I think Hamilton finished either 5th or 6th.
4. I am beginning to think that Russel is a better driver than Hamilton, at least in 2022. It is also possible that Hamilton lost his will to fight because MB engine has been so shitty in 2022!
