I don’t necessarily think the girls are forced against their will to work when they first started. And having talked to and become regular with a few of the K-girls, they are here to make a quick buck then go back to home to either buy a place or use the money as seed to start a new business/new life.
Having said that MW is probably one of the most jammed packed agency out there. In the past I have been bitched out by the phone girl for being 5mins late. And some girls even complain that they take too many customers to the point where they are exhausted. I have heard complaints that they are supposed to end at 12am but sometimes still get appointments at 11:45. So I wouldn’t be surprised that some girls turn and now going against Andy and his crew and say it’s forced labour. Every girl has this fear of reporting to the phone girls making sure they clock in and clock out on time. And specifically I have heard which is the better phone keepers and which are not. (For those old wolves, I think you know who I am talking about…)
Ultimately, I don’t think the girls are forced to work at the on-set but during their tenure I am sure they have been put into situation where they may feel they are forced to work. |
