Saito吧,毕竟多村唯一米其林2星餐厅,出品一向稳定,经营时间也算长的了。

Just a good old memory story about Hiro Sushi in downtown Toronto.

Hiro closed his shop right before the covid disaster to retire.

During the years Hiro was active, it is a privilege to enjoy his food.

The late night customers like me get to enjoy the food with him because everyone knows each other. Once he knows you, he remembers your name. And you get to enjoy the special dishes he made.

On some Sundays, when he feels like it, he would make soba by hand and serve them fresh ...

Good old times.

That's the beauty of Japanese restaurant where you are sitting across the chief.  They get to know you personally and your taste, if they have time they will make you something off the menu to suit your taste, chef kiss!

For high end resto, you are not paying for the food.

You are paying to not seeing the poor people around you.

Saito Masaki was 600 when we went a year ago, its good but not comparable to Japan top sushi you can find on tabelog. especially not price to value. I actually asked Saito where he goes to eat sushi, and he said he likes Zen sushi, price to value is better there.

Also tried places like Zen, Umi, Kaji, Rin, Kibo, Abrui no Hana(not really sushi). Overall just not up to par to what we can find in Japan, or even Thailand high end sushi (lot of japanese there).

we are curious about shoushin as well, some chefs told us Jackie gets really good suppliers from Japan so his sushi is naturally better.
