Your right bro. Unfortunately unless you only stick with a few tried-and-true agencies, you never know if new agency or independent that you want to try will be one of those rare ones that actually respect your privacy, or those that don't give a shit about anyone.

There are just too many of those shitty agents that don't give a shit about you. Won't matter if you politely ask, angrily demand, or even beg or threaten them. Once you're on their contact list, the harassment won't cease until you get a new number.

I'm all for shops screening for LE, but they need to have more flexible ways.  Checking vax card, checking ID/passport, and everything can be done in person (even before the transaction as long customer knows it's not a scam which you can just research here).  The only thing I disagree with is EMT payments because that puts too much risk on the customer as it is hard evidence.

這個問題我也問過，一般很多狼友都建議用prepay的sim card，自從被某店稍擾過後我也擔心過這個問題...

7-11 has pay as you go plans, you can pay cash at the store for SIM and top up.  Just means you will carry 2nd phone.
Or if your phone supports eSIM you can use that with the big boys, will have your info.
Or use text apps but some shops might not accept it.

I dont know how shops know which number is an APP number, but a lot won't accept it. The 2 shops in Toronto asked to talk to me in voice and asked some questions, the one shop in Vancouver used to allow APP number but since then not anymore.

I am honestly not super worried about being caught or something but I just don't really want it showing up on my phone bill's records. I may get a prepaid card thing next time I go to Toronto...
