It is actually very different; one is nuclear contaminated water and other countries are nuclear waste water.  The latter water doesn't directly touch nuclear waste.  Western media just ignore it due to politics and if one know anything about Japan's handling of the nuclear disaster there is no way u'd just trust anything they do.

主要是没有任何国家提出了任何其他可实施的解决办法。
污染地球的不止有核污染水
people who are angry about the news probably don't understand or bother to understand science.
Treated water, as long as it meets international safety standard, should be fine.
