Not only that we had the 70th Anti Fascist military parade in Beijing, but also Pope Francis visting Cuba then US, as well as President Xi visiting US.
I would like to comment on the Pope Visit in US.
There was rumor that Cuba and US improved relationship was partly assisted by the Holy Father. If he did, that is only one of the good acts he did.
I am NOT a religious person. On the contrary, I practically flunked my Religion class all the time in HIGH SCHOOL. But this Pope is some thing else.
Pope of the people. Blessed the Les, Gay, Trans etc. Nice to the Homeless. And he is going to address the JOINT congress of the house TODAY (Thursday 24th). Rachel Maddow of CNBC show of same name commented that US has 70 Mn Catholics, 30% of US congress is Catholics, 6 of the 9 Supreme Count Justice is Catholic (seems high to me), as 1/5 of US population is Catholic, 30% of those are of Hispanic origin. Whatever the FIRST Pope address in Congress could carry some weight and might move the congress and US towards a better state for mankind.
On the side of the US continent, President Xi is meeting all the important members of US business, including Tim Cook (Apple), Warren Buffet, President of Microsoft, Howard Shultz of Starbucks, Mary Bara of GM, Boeing, Dow Chemical, Amazon etc. Apparently he joked about House of Cards Season 2 that he is NOT there to purge politcal opponents, but truly to get rid of corruption. He has our beautiful FIRST LADY on his side dressed in white walking down the steps from the airplane. We as Chinese should also be proud that we have this moment in the world's strongest economy.
