Yes, I read that.  Alfonso to join MB in 2025.

MB has only themselves to blame for the loss because for 2 years, it could not provide a competitive car for a 7-time World Championship, allowing his reputation to erode.  To add insult to injury, MaClaren which uses MB engine even performed better than MB.

Anyway, if F-1's governing body allows cheater to outrun the nearest competitor in every race by 0.5"/lap, the future for F-1 is dim.

MB just contacted Alonso.. Nothing else to that yet.

It will be a big driver market change for 2025. Alot of driver's contract end 2024.

Alonso will be 44 in 2025. It will be very hard for him. But it is really hard to stay retired once u raced.

IF MB acquired Alonso, it is going to be a stop gap measure for 1 yr. while looking for a more permanent replacement.  If I were Toto Wolfe (assuming he has not yet offered a  contract for Alonso to sign on the dotted line), I will make Russell #1 driver in 2025, give him 1 - 2 more years to further prove himself, but get a young star - Piastri, who performed very well in his 2023 rookie year!  If the Alonso acquirement is a done deal, offer Piastri a contract for 2026 season.  This is a 2 + 1 scheme.
One thing which we don't know & which I suspect, is that Toto's position is NOT that secure, given he had 2 bad years in a row & with no improvement in sight!

It has now becoming clearer of the "last straw" which prompted Hamilton's move - MB's 2024 car was tested by Hamilton in simulated driving, & it was shitty, to say the least.  So, Hamilton is not interested in wasting one more year with MB which will give him NO chance of winning another championship.  Meantime, the Red Stallion showed Hamilton what's coming in 2024/25.

Meantime, following Hamilton's 2025 departure, several key MB technical staff have also made a move of jumping ship (to Ferrari).  If all of these are true, MB will be in a deep shit hole, & will perform even worse than 2023.

If I were Hamilton, I will even pay MB the penalty, & sit out/exit even before 2024 season begins!

Mercedes should be very competitive. Hamilton was not happy with the design of the car for the past few years. 2024, i think the grid will be very close except for HASS. lol

I am sure they didnt show anything for 2024/2025. That is illegal and consider as cheating.

Rumour is that ferrai offered hamilton 100 million a year but that is probably fake news

there are also rumour benz technical staff may leave with Hamilton but that has not been confirm yet.
