Now that Team USA has won the WWSC, what remain is its fight for pay equality.
I am still of the opinion that the number of fans', advertisers', sponsors' support is the decider. Unlike the rest of the world, Soccer is only a "fringe sport" in USA, number of soccer fan cannot compare with, say, basket ball, baseball, stock car (racing in oval and circles), ice hockey..... The list goes on and on before reaching soccer (men or women) .
Without paid spectators, there is no "gate revenue"; without advertisers, the soccer organization has no money, without sponsors, both teams and players have no extra revenue.
So, the women soccer players are barking up the wrong tree for not getting equal pay. Granted that the male soccer players do not have enough spectators as well, but they are still having more spectators/advertisers/sponsors than women soccer players.
If the women soccer players want EQUAL pay as the male soccer players, then disband women soccer clubs, and let the women soccer players apply for, join, and play in mens soccer clubs. If the women soccer players can survive or excel, then of course, they deserve equal pay.
The other alternative is go to Europe where soccer is popular with strong followings. There are women soccer leagues + more importantly fans, and play in Europe.
Even good S. American male soccer players play in Europe too, so why cant the US women soccer players?????
So, for US women soccer players suck it up or fuck up!
