yes, key word is 'supposed'. Gold is also 'supposed' to be the hedge against a crash and it's not doing so great either. The crash will bring a lot of good buying opportunities though whether its equities, commodities, or real estate.
Every since 2008 when feds started bailing out "too big" to fail companies economics 101 has changed drastically. All the traditional principals for a healthy economy is out the window, it now just make that 1% richer.
That's true shag, the wealth gap has widened so much since coronavirus. This week will be interesting as US raises rates and provides guidance. I'm expecting a further drop.
