HPV vaccine?
Anyone here took the HPV vaccines before?Does it cover by OHIP?
Can you take the shots form any pharmacy?
Thanks!!!
it should be covered. I don't think you can get this at a pharmacy - probably just have to book with a GP or look into a "travel doc" that does shots for overseas travel Many pharmacies including shoppers do it, requires booking I think. In terms of ohip coverge I am not sure. I went and asked a few pharmacies, they said they can order the vaccine and do the shot but will need prescription from the doctor. They also suggest people should just get it from their family doctors. As others mentioned, you need to get a doctor's prescription.I took 2 shot so far, I think there are 3 in total. i remember it depend on what does In Canada, kids before 16, boys and girls all get free shots for HPV. adult will need prescription from a doctor and pay by yourself to get the shots. superstars 发表于 2023-3-15 21:53
it should be covered.
No, OHIP only covers kids (grade 7 school vaccination program) and high-risk individuals up to age 26 through family doctors. Statistically, people over 26 are most likely exposed to HPV already, at least according to Ontario Ministry of Health. The Americans think it should be 45. HPV自己打也不算很贵啊。可以先验一下。
